2018 WAND SoTL Project

SoTL leadership in curriculum design and delivery: a WAND embedding innovation project

You are invited to take part in a West Australian Network for Dissemination (WAND) project to help teaching staff integrate scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) into curriculum design and delivery, using the Curriculum Research Evaluation and Research (CER) Framework designed by Dr Jo-Anne Kelder and Associate Professor Andrea Carr. We are seeking expressions of interest to participate in this project. Please communicate your interest by email to your institutional WAND representative by Thursday 25th January 2018.

By participating in this project you will learn how to:

  • Legitimise and enable collegial, scholarly activity directed toward learning and teaching.
  • Embed evaluation and research into teaching at the level of a unit or course
  • Develop capacity, team building and leadership in SoTL
  • Learn how to show students that you care about quality, and model good practice to students
  • Formulate an implementation plan
  • Begin to advance your SoTL and generate SoTL outputs e.g. conference papers; publications

The project will help you with quality improvement, quality assurance, and scholarship of teaching and learning in the units and courses you offer. The application of the CER Framework is aligned with Higher Education Standards Framework, which took effect in 2017.

Jo-Anne Kelder and Andrea Carr will lead an information workshop for teaching staff, course and unit coordinators, Deans and Directors of Learning and Teaching and anyone else interested, on Thursday 1st February 2018 at The University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle as part of the WA Learning and Teaching Forum.
