Facilitating sustainable, long-term enhancement of learning and teaching in WA universities.

About us

The West Australian Network for Dissemination (WAND) is the WA Promoting Excellence Network that was supported by funding from the Department of Education and Training. This university network has the broad aim of facilitating sustainable, long-term enhancement of learning and teaching, nurturing a climate of collaboration and embedding innovation and good practice in Western Australia. The lead university rotates to all WA universities on a two or three yearly basis.

The key activities are:

  • provide workshops and other events for enhancing capacity of WA university staff to apply for the Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT)
  • disseminate the work of nationally funded learning and teaching Grants and Fellowships and build a community of practice in learning and teaching scholarship
  • support for the WA Teaching and Learning Forum
  • support for HERDSA WA
  • collaboration with the other state based Promoting Excellence Networks (PEN)
